ABOUT US
Equity Bridge Nepal
We are dedicated to addressing the educational inequities faced by first-generation, low-income students from under-resourced communities in Nepal. We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background.

Our mission is to break down the systemic barriers that prevent first-generation, low-income students from thriving in Nepal’s formal sector by providing them with essential financial literacy and soft skills, career guidance, and access to role models. We aim to ensure that these students graduate from high school equipped with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to pursue meaningful careers and contribute to their communities.
We envision a Nepal where every student, regardless of their socioeconomic background, has the knowledge, guidance, and support to excel academically, stay rooted in their community, and contribute to a thriving, equitable society. By focusing on financial literacy, career exposure, and mentorship, we seek to create a generation of empowered individuals who are capable of driving positive change in their communities.
The Problem and Our Impact
In Nepal, high poverty rates and low financial literacy are significant barriers to educational attainment. Many families are unable to make informed decisions about their children's education, often prioritizing immediate economic survival over long-term goals. This is particularly true for students from first-generation, low-income backgrounds who lack access to role models and career guidance. As a result, many talented students pursue less optimal labor jobs or migrate abroad, contributing to a decrease in the level of talented workforce within the country.
Equity Bridge Nepal was born out of a desire to change this narrative. Our pilot project, which focused on a small group of students in a low-income area public school, demonstrated the power of mentorship, career exposure, and financial literacy training. Today, all of them have graduated and are pursuing higher education in Nepal with the dream of contributing to the country’s ecosystem.
